Geomembrane Liners
The use of polyethylene (PE) flexible geomembrane liners has now reached the point of almost universal application, where many projects specify geomembrane linings.
- HDPE – High Density Polyethylene:
• Excellent chemical resistance and is not affected by most chemical solutions or hazardous waste contaminants
• Resistance to UV exposure is further enhanced by the addition of carbon black
• Due to the absence of plasticizers, volatilization is not a problem
• All products are chemically inert and non-toxic.
- LLDPE – Linear Low Density Polyethylene:
• Excellent UV and chemical resistance
• High degree of flexibility improves installation around complex shapes and geometries
• Excellent mechanical properties such as high puncture resistance and high multi-axial elongation make LLDPE liners more suitable in applications where conformity to sub-grade and structural irregularities increase the potential for damage.
Normal Textured and Enhanced Textured – ETEX
• Textured liners are produced by blown film and flat die manufacturing methods to provide increased friction angles for interface stability on steeper slope applications.
• Reduces the potential for slippage between adjacent layers.

The use of polyethylene (PE) flexible geomembrane liners has now reached the point of almost universal application, where many projects specify geomembrane linings.
Geomembrane linings are universally accepted design and construction elements as they:
• Provide technical and cost advantages over more traditional methods of construction, particularly in areas of active and dispersive soils and heaving clays
• Maintain flexibility and integrity when more rigid materials will crack
• Reduce layer thickness, increase available void space and reduce costs of construction
• Follow precise MQA (manufacturing quality control) and CQA (construction quality control) procedures applied for manufacture and in construction
• Are highly durable, resistant to weathering and climatic effects and offer resistance to a wide range of chemical solutions
• Are flexible both in nature and in use and can be used for lining around irregular geometrical profiles.
• Are safe for long-term storage of potable water because they are non-toxic and chemically inert; Rowad linings are potable water approved by a number of key international institutions.
Rowad is a specialist manufacturer in the production of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) and LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) geomembrane liners utilizing state-of-the-art blown film and flat die extrusion processes.
